University Survival Pack Christian Edition :-)

A second edition of the university survival pack piece. This piece came from a place of realization of how we really do have the ability to achieve something with enough willingness.

University is still one of the most challenging places to be. How do you navigate it whilst holding on to your beliefs? In a place where the environment demands your attention.

Well! I’m back with another life lesson/experience from this semester, the semester has been eventful but has been nothing short of lesson filled.

Intentionality has to top the list for me. I was one of those individuals who would talk about being intentional in my walk with Christ and would never really do it, but believe me once you take being intentional seriously I guarantee you, you’ll be left in awe of the results.

Next consider having a support system, everything done with someone or with a couple of other people becomes easier. Not only for accountability but for your strengthening as well. It gives you great peace and motivation knowing that you have someone to share your experiences and struggles with. As I normally say having a circle of people who share the same beliefs as you is important and even vital, because that’s where your sound council lies.

Remind yourself why you started, even when the going gets tough it’s a great way to get yourself back aligned. Remind yourself why you started on this path of life, what brought you here? How did you come to this decision? Remember to answer yourself honestly.

Pick yourself up when you stumble, stumbling is a completely normal thing and happens to even the strongest people. The idea is to get back on your feet once you realize you’ve stumbled, the longer you stay down the more room you leave for the devil to plant his seed which starts feeding you lies. Once you let these lies seep in too deep it turns into another battle to get out of.

Sometimes we won’t have anyone around and we have to be strong enough to pick ourselves up, muster up the power and courage to get back on your feet. As we’d say in one of the Zambian local languages, “niku limba che nakuzi nyamula.”  There’s times when people’s words don’t do it for you speak to yourself and get up and do the needful! Because at the end of the day men can only do so much to help you however even in such moments don’t forget you aren’t walking alone.
